Brian's paper titled Mechanisms of kinetic stabilization by the drugs paclitaxel and vinblastine was accepted at Molecular Biology of the Cell! In this study, along with co-authors from University of Michigan, we use high-resolution imaging of microtubules in epithelial cells and in vitro using purified protein, and a computational model of microtubule self-assembly dynamics to determine how widely-used chemotherapy drugs affect the kinetics and thermodynamics of microtubule assembly.
